It’s the beginning of June, which is supposed to be filled excitement, summer plans, beer gardens, road trips to the beach and all other fantastic summer activities that’s currently filling up my social media accounts. June is normally the start of summer, but it’s nothing more than winter here. It’s weird and confusing to see all summer photos on facebook. I’m still struggling to wrap my head around it all, at the same time as I’m searching for a new winter coat.
It obviously could be a lot worse than an Australian winter, but it’s cold enough to leave the pool unattended and to add a few extra layers of clothing. The biggest difference is that life has defiantly slowed down here and everyone seems to have gone into some sort of hibernated state of mind, at the same time as life is better, more active and entertaining on the southern part of the hemisphere.
There’s so many things that I want to do and experience, but most of it ends up on our “things we’ll do once it’s warmer”-list. We’re biding our time, have tv-serie marathons and try to be as active as possible. I have never felt more distanced and further away from my old life than I do now.
