Nothing burns like the cold

cold weather
Today was the first day in a very long time that I started to shiver as soon as I got outside. It was painfully cold and it completely took me by surprise. It was one of those kind of days, where you just want to wrap your coat around you, make yourself as small as possible and run inside as fast as you can. Today was apparently the coldest day of this year and it really noticeable.

It’s easy to forget that even Australia has seasons, since It has been nice and warm for the last 6+ months. I automatically throw on a pair of shorts and a thin top before going somewhere. I haven’t even bothered looking up the weather, since I could simply assume that it was going to be too warm for a sweater. I have been taking it for granted, but today was a reality check that the Australian winter is unfortunately on its way. I forgot my only coat in a taxi in Bali, so I will need to get another ASAP.

It’s funny though, how you can get used to certain temperatures. It was 19 degrees today, which is a drop of 10 degrees in just a few days. 19 degrees is freezing cold here, while people in Sweden would consider it warm, go around in shorts and be outdoors as much as possible.
